I Am Happy Microsoft Rewrites TS in Go
Microsoft is rewriting TypeScript in Golang [&]. This is the best news so far this year. Another company will contribute to Go ecosystem, and I like that it’s Microsoft - I am happy.
This means that there’s a chance Golang gets a beeter support for Windows. And perhaps more devs jump on board and Golang gets enriched with packages other than networking stacks. Golang is the king of server applications, but some expansion to other fields would be nice.
Golang is most productive language I’ve ever used so I am happy it gets more support. Maybe it’s wishful thinking on my part, but let’s hope it goes further than TypeScript compiler.
BTW. Rewriting TS/JS to Go is relatively easy. I had such experience on couple of projects and I always advise to consider Go as an alternative to NodeJS. Of course unless your team has a rust cult adept - you probably never finsh the project in this case.
Peace ✌️
